RailsConf 2024 and Google IO 2024
I recently attended RailsConf in Detroit and Google I/O in Mountain View, gaining unique perspectives on the tech industry. Despite facing physical injuries at both events, I was heartened by the welcoming atmosphere for tech enthusiasts.
At RailsConf, the one hour commute took a toll on my energy levels, causing me to miss several morning keynotes. Although disappointed, the highlights were certainly the roster of lightning talks!
Both conferences showcased captivating content. RailsConf provided an opportunity to engage intimately with speakers through impromptu sessions, creating memorable experiences. Google I/O, renowned for its high-profile keynotes, introduced numerous innovations that left me eager to explore further.
RailsConf's keynotes and other content will soon be accessible online, allowing me to catch up. Meanwhile, Google I/O’s massive scale meant absorbing everything in one visit proved challenging. Everything is available online, which has been an additional adventure to treasure hunt for all of the Gemini goodies. Nevertheless, I embraced the experience, taking away valuable insights and lessons! I’m so excited to build with tools I’ve learned at these conferences.
I deeply valued both experiences and am incredibly thankful for these opportunities. These events served as reminders that nothing yet can match the richness of in-person interactions.
